Sentara Regional Medical Center.  The new 139-bed Sentara Regional Medical Center features the latest healthcare technologies, and serves the region with the life-saving capabilities of an ultra-modern medical center. Completed in 2006, Sentara is located 9.5 miles from the entrance to Governor’s Land. Sentara also maintains an Urgent Care Center on John Tyler Highway, 5.2 miles from Governor’s Land. The Riverside Health System,

erves much of eastern Virginia. Riverside facilities include hospitals, physician offices, outpatient centers, long term care facilities, retirement communities and other services. The Riverside Medical Arts facility is located off John Tyler Highway just over 5 miles from the entrance to Governor’s Land. The facility provides a wide range of outpatient specialties. The Riverside System also operates the Riverside Regional Medical Center, a comprehensive 570-bed teaching hospital located in Newport News, about 30 minutes by car.

Supporting Emergency Medical Services.  James City County Fire Station #5, which includes an emergency medical response ambulance, is located just 1.1 miles from the entrance to Governor’s Land. The station, like all JCC stations, is staffed by three shifts of firefighters and medical technicians. The station also houses a Tech unit capable of responding to natural and man-made disasters.

In addition, Hospice House and Support Care of Williamsburg offers non-medical assistance for individuals who are living with a life threatening illness and for those who love them. Care is offered in the patient’s home or in Hospice House, which offers guest rooms, a kitchen, family room and sun room, all surrounded by gardens and woods.
